Born and Raised in Polk County

Independent Aeration Services is owned and operated by Gary Sykes. Gary is a Polk County native, and the lawns he works on are the same sandy, sun-baked ground he grew up on. He knows what a Bahia lawn in Lakeland does in August, why a Zoysia lawn scalps by the third mowing of spring, and what it takes to change the soil underneath rather than paper over it.

A Background in Turf

Gary comes to lawn care from the turf side, where the standard is a playing surface that has to look right and hold up to use. That background is why the company is built around soil first: core aeration, compost top dressing, leveling and soil testing, rather than the spray-and-mow routine most lawns get. It is also why the equipment is the same class used on athletic fields, and why every job is applied cleanly, with the material on the turf and not on the street or in the beds.

Who We Serve

IAS is set up for residential lawns, commercial properties, agricultural sites and athletic fields across Lakeland and Polk County. Whether it is a quarter-acre home lot or a full field, the approach is the same: test the soil, fix what the test shows, and measure the result.
