Soil Analysis and SoilTrack

Test first. Treat second. Measure the result.

Soil Analysis

Every lawn program at Independent Aeration Services starts with a soil test. We pull samples from several points across the lawn, combine them and send them to a laboratory for analysis. The report tells us what the soil actually has and what it is missing: pH, organic matter, and the major and minor nutrients the grass depends on.

That report decides the treatment. Low organic matter points to a COMAND top dressing. A pH that is off calls for lime or a different amendment. Compaction shows up in how the samples come out of the ground and points to core aeration. Guessing at any of this wastes money on products the lawn does not need and misses the one it does.

SoilTrack: Watch Your Soil Improve

SoilTrack is our soil restoration program with testing built in, so you see the numbers move instead of taking our word for it. One program runs eighteen months:

  1. Before treatment. Baseline soil samples are collected and analyzed. We build the plan from the results.
  2. Treatment. Core aeration and a COMAND top dressing at the depth the test calls for.
  3. Month 6. Second round of samples. We compare organic matter, pH and nutrient levels against the baseline.
  4. Month 9. Follow-up COMAND application to keep the organic matter building.
  5. Month 12. Third round of samples and a review of the year.
  6. Month 18. Final soil test, which closes out the restoration and sets the maintenance plan going forward.

You receive each lab report and a plain-language summary of what changed. Most customers see the difference in the lawn long before month eighteen, but the tests are what prove the soil underneath it has changed too.

Who It Is For

SoilTrack suits homeowners who want a lawn fixed properly rather than patched every season, HOA and commercial properties that need to justify the spend, and athletic fields where the soil has to hold up to use. It is also the right starting point if a previous lawn service has not delivered results and nobody can say why.

Before: thin turf on sandy soil
Corner lot after treatment with even green turf to the curb
After: the same corner lot once the soil was treated
